We are proud to inform you of our awards, and upcoming projects.
GOLD STANDARD FRAMEWORK
Marmora Care Home has been recognised as a part of the Gold Standard Framework. This Framework is in partnership with St Helena Hospice. To qualify we, as a team, had to meet a set of requirements to improve our Palliative (End of Life) Care and put these into practice. As one of the few in the Tendring Area recognised with this award, you can rest easy in the knowledge that we will provide the best quality care for those at the end of their lives, in a gentle and understanding manner. DECONDITIONING GAMES
We won Silver in the Deconditioning Games. These games were done to help raise awareness of and tackle the issues around deconditioning in hospitals, care homes, mental health and community services. We had to make small changes in practice to keep people active and mobile and share examples of best practices. These initiatives can help to prevent functional decline, and to support both residents and staff well-being.
PEM PROJECT
Our staff have embarked on a new project with Essex County Council called the PEM project (prevention enablement recovery project). This project is to encourage physical activity within residents’ everyday routines, it can be as simple as walking around a room or fun chair exercises. The aim of this is to use physical interventions to improve residents’ health, well-being and independence.
At Marmora, we host regular Yoga sessions, as seen in the image below. We are always developing our knowledge and understanding of the PEM Project and will look into all sorts of fun activities to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
UPCOMING – ESSEX AWARDS
We will be nominated for some awards this year at the Essex Care Sector Awards. The categories in which we are being nominated are Unsung hero, Outstanding leadership, Team of the year, Dementia care, Activities and wellbeing and making a difference.
Our applications for these categories are due at the beginning of April and we need to provide evidence for each nominated award. If you can provide us with some statements which will support us with any of the categories, we would be very grateful
